IE Hub Explainer Video Series
The brief
IE Hub, a UK fintech offering a free online affordability tool, needed a series of customer-facing videos – a brand identity film, two staff interviews and eight FAQ explainer videos – explaining who they are and how they support customers facing financial difficulty. The brief called for something uncomplicated, inclusive and sensitive, shot and turned around within a week.
On the day
One brand film, two staff interviews and eight explainers, all in one day, in an employee’s home. Every script, storyboard and cutaway was planned to the minute beforehand (decades of experience helps), and I visited the house first so it never felt like a film crew had moved in.
It also helped that their marketing director, Gemma Cryan, is an absolute pro. She even let us use her bloopers on our socials.
Our approach
The IE Hub team chose to film inside an employee’s home, to portray a safe, welcoming environment for a sensitive subject. Our director visited beforehand to build rapport and plan the shoot so everyone felt comfortable. We mapped every script, storyboard and cutaway ahead of time and ran the whole series as a single, tightly organised one-day shoot, putting people at ease so scripts were delivered naturally on camera.
Deliverables
A brand identity video, two staff interviews and eight FAQ explainer videos, plus supporting cutaway footage.
The result
IE Hub now uses the explainer video content across its website and has seen visitor numbers increase by 333%.
