Wellburn Care Homes Video Case Studies
The brief
Wellburn Care Homes wanted a series of video case studies across their 14 luxury care homes in the North East, built around genuine staff and resident interviews, to show the quality of care and the personalised experience they offer – filmed in the aftermath of the pandemic, when trust in care home standards mattered more than ever.
On the day
56 interviews, 2,361 cutaways and 1,171 miles, across 14 homes in three weeks. It was a lot to get through, but the job on every visit was the same: make everyone we spoke to feel comfortable. We heard “Is that it?” from the staff at least once a visit.
The residents had wonderful stories (one lady had gone to India in her 60s to help hand out the polio vaccine), and we could have made a feature documentary from what we filmed. What people said in their interviews decided which cutaways we used.
Our approach
We planned two staff interviews and two resident interviews per site across all 14 homes, plus cutaway footage of each home’s facilities and the personalised activities residents were enjoying, within a three-week shooting schedule. The focus throughout was giving genuine residents and staff room to speak for themselves about the quality of care, rather than relying on a single flagship location to represent all 14 sites.
Deliverables
14 individual care home video case studies, drawn from 56 interviews and over 2,300 cutaway shots captured across the North East.
The result
A consistent, honest set of case studies covering the full estate of 14 homes rather than a single showcase site – real evidence of quality of care across the whole business, not just its best location.
