NHS Stop Smoking Campaign Animation
The brief
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust asked us to produce an animation encouraging NHS employees to access their free stop smoking support. The goal was to increase engagement with the programme – hooking the right audience, sharing the service offer clearly, and giving them a straightforward call to action.
Our approach
We were given creative control provided key messages were included, so we developed a bright, clean, accessible style with a diverse range of characters representative of the NHS. Public health communication has to be clear, accessible, accurate and non-judgemental – during development we swapped out some imagery that risked feeling exclusionary (for example, reframing a scene about savings around accessible purchases like DIY improvements or a bicycle, rather than luxury spending that could alienate parts of the audience).
Deliverables
A fully animated explainer, delivered in versions with and without subtitles, as H.264 MP4 and ProRes MOV for archive.
The result
The project went from initial meeting to sign-off in six weeks, with the first storyboard and draft script delivered within 7 days of kick-off. Committee feedback was strongly positive, with only minor amends needed, and the client told us engagement with the programme was particularly strong.
