NTSCP Safeguarding Animation
The brief
The North Tyneside Safeguarding Children Partnership (NTSCP) wanted an animated safeguarding film that would genuinely resonate with young people – not a film made about them, but one made with them, in their own words.
Our approach
We ran collaborative workshops where young participants developed the narrative themselves, from planning through storyboarding, scriptwriting and recording, with our team guiding their ideas into a structured script. The process was built around giving the participants real ownership of the project, so the finished film reflected their own voices and language rather than an adult’s idea of how to talk to them.
Deliverables
A fully animated safeguarding film, premiered publicly to the young participants and partner organisations.
The result
The film premiered at the Jam Jar Cinema in Whitley Bay to an audience including NTSCP, North Tyneside Council, Northumbria Police and the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board – a genuine cross-sector partnership premiere for a film made by and for young people.
