Healthcare is built on the connection between professionals and patients, services and communities, research and real life. Video has a unique role to play in making those connections stronger, clearer, and more honest.
At Turps Film, we create video content that brings the work of healthcare organisations to life. Whether it’s raising awareness around a vital issue, helping patients understand a service, sharing a powerful personal story or supporting staff training, our films are designed to inform, reassure and resonate.
We’ve produced content for hospitals, hospices, health campaigns, care providers and NHS initiatives — always with a people-first approach. That might mean filming inside a busy ward, interviewing families with lived experience, or animating complex public health messages in a way that feels simple and clear. Every project is handled with sensitivity, professionalism, and care.
Healthcare video can take many forms; from day-in-the-life stories, service explainers and awareness campaigns, to recruitment films, induction content, and in-depth training materials. Whatever the format, the aim is the same: to build trust, support understanding, and reflect the values at the heart of the organisation.
In a sector where clarity matters and communication can make a real difference, video offers a way to reach people that’s both accessible and emotionally impactful. It can calm nerves, encourage action, support learning, and give a face to the care being delivered every day.
We know how to navigate complex topics, tight environments and sensitive subject matter. And we understand that behind every healthcare video, there’s a story worth telling and people who deserve to be seen and heard.
EXAMPLES OF OUR HEALTHCARE VIDEO PROJECTS
We worked with St Oswald’s Hospice on a campaign video for their Focus on Living Centre focused on care for those with a palliative illness. The purpose of the video is to spread awareness of the service as many are not aware that they can be referred by their GP! The video features interviews with the staff and patients to discuss the benefits and wellness that are provided with the centre.
We created a powerful and emotive awareness video for Wellburn Care Homes, highlighting the impact of Young Onset Dementia and the specialised care available. Using professional actors, the film sensitively portrays the challenges faced by those living with the condition, as well as the support that Wellburn provides. With a focus on raising awareness and offering reassurance to families, this visually compelling piece encourages greater understanding of dementia and the importance of compassionate, tailored care.
We worked with the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) to produce a series of videos promoting the Public Health Practitioner Registration process. Featuring real practitioners sharing their journeys, the films aim to demystify the process, highlight the benefits of registration, and encourage others working in public health to take the next step in their careers. With a warm and informative tone, the videos celebrate the vital work of practitioners and help build confidence in accessing support and taking that professional leap.
This collab with Wellburn Care Homes focuses on their Nightingale Hall site and their care for patients living with dementia. Wellburn Care are a large North East based healthcare provider of a number of residences for those living with Dementia across the region and they asked us to showcase the work that they do and the care that is on offer.
Working with the Sunderland Social Prescribing Partnership, this piece showcases the benefits of art, culture and nature can have on mental and physical health. A grant was provided to fund the research and explore social prescribing activities.
