2025- What a year we had here at Turps Film! We didn’t think we could top how busy it was the year before (or how fun) but we did it again. From filming a pretty cool product promo (coming soon!) to meaningful charity pieces, awareness animations, commercial shoots to brand films, it was a jam-packed mix and a lot of behind the scenes graft from the team to keep things moving.
From working with long-standing client partners and being introduced to new collabs, we’ve pushed our creativity even further this year to deliver video content that we can be proud of.
To celebrate another wonderful year, we’ve put together a little 2025 recap highlights film to showcase all the fun we had.
RECAP: Here’s how our 2025 at Turps Film shaped up
Q1- January to March
- Client: Wellburn Care
- Project: Young Onset Dementia Campaign
Kicking the year off in style, the first quarter saw the release of our powerful awareness campaign spotlighting dementia care with Wellburn Care homes.
This emotive piece was shot over a number of days with the use of actors to portray real-life stories of those suffering and how the team at Wellburn can help.
- Client: NHS
- Project: Careers in Public Health
In February, we were out and about in Newcastle and Sunderland shooting not one but two spotlight films on careers in public health. Oh we do love a two-cam setup.
These videos were multi-purpose for both a conference and for website use to promote the service.
- Client: Forfusion
- Project: Case Study with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
March saw us at the very high-spec and tech focused Northumbria Health and Care Academy at the NSECH site in Northumberland.
This case study shows the integration of Forfusion’s tech in use with client testimonials on their offering. Forfusion also recently won the NECC award for SME business of the year.
We were also back out in Ashington with Walk the Plank to film their second event as part of the Animating Ashington programme: Light Nights. The spectacle saw crowds gather with fireworks, pyrotechnics and LED drummers galore!
As part of a project for Sunderland Public Health, we also delivered a free intro to film workshop for some media students to collate their ideas and feedback for a proposed young persons vaping animation which we thoroughly enjoyed. We even got tasked the students to aid with the voiceover in the final piece which was delivered later in the year.
Q2: April to June
- Client: Norton Expert
- Project: Sustainable Discs Product Launch
Quarter 2 saw the delivery this high-end commercial product promo for our long term clients over at Norton.
Sparks were flying in this one for some cool close ups to show the product in action. We even delivered this one in multiple languages for a widened use case.
- Client: Walk the Plank
- Project: ‘One Amazing Day’ Event Capture
Continuing the Animating Ashington series was ‘One Amazing Day’ in a carnival style fashion for the town providing a mix of live action wrestling, parades and various stalls bringing the community out in force.
It was a very busy period for both pre and post production work for the team. A huge part of our pre-production includes recces, scheduling, pre-interviews and extensive research on our clients and their brand to deliver the right tone and look for their end result.
Q3: July to September
- Client: Little Inventors
- Project: Wildlife Challenge X Lit & Phil Library
It’s not just adults we get on camera! We were back shooting for the lovely guys over at Little Inventors for their latest ‘Wildlife in the City Challenge.’
Celebrating the creativity of young minds, the awards show was filmed at the very cool and eclectic Lit & Phil Library in Newcastle and was created for funding and awareness purposes.
- Client: Sunderland City Council
- Project: Vaping Awareness Animation
As aforementioned, we were tasked to create a vaping animation for Sunderland Public Health in a bid to spread awareness on the negative effects on vaping aimed at young adults.
We wanted to create something visually impactful and also easily digestible to the desired audience. Check it out!
In August, we spent a number of days with the wonderful team at St Oswald’s Hospice shooting for their upcoming features on the bereavement and social care departments in addition to their giving day and fundraising efforts.
The main films are scheduled for release in early 2026 and truly convey just how much care the staff at the hospice provide to families across the North East.
Q4: October to December
- Client: PulmoBioMed
- Project: Pioneers in Respiratory Health Showcase
We were commissioned by PulmoBioMed, a Northumbria University spin-out, to create an informative corporate explainer video to shine a light on this amazing invention.
Revolutionary for respiratory care, we interviewed the creators and shareholders to tell us all about the product and what it can do.
- Client: Walk the Plank
- Project: Animating Ashington Wrap Up
Over the course of 9 months, we filmed a number of events for the Animating Ashington programme which saws thousands of the community out in force to witness vibrant performances, installations and more.
This wrap up video will be used for future funding and was also created to show how investments in town’s is beneficial to local communities and why council’s should take note.
The end of the year also saw numerous projects shot and in post-production ready for launching in 2026.
These include a brand film for People’s Powerhouse, a case study for our friends over at Weber and a large scale commercial for the launch of a top secret product for Norton. All we can say for now is probe lens, automotive and really cool 3D imagery..
In December, we also moved into our new office and we have big plans to turn it from a white box to something very cool in the future so watch this space..
December also saw the arrival of director’s Luke and Claire’s little one who was quick to show off their new role as Turps Film’s ‘Best Boy.’ It won’t be long until he’s rolling his sleeves up on set!
On behalf of all of the team at Turps Film, we would like to say a huge thank you to our clients, both long-standing and new and to our amazing crew who as we couldn’t make these amazing projects without them.
2025 was class.. here’s to 2026!
