Drone Filming & Aerial Videography

One more angle, planned like the rest
A drone shot can do in five seconds what a paragraph can’t: show the size of a site, where a building sits, or how far a town stretches. It’s usually a small part of a film, so we plan it like one.
We work with CAA-approved drone operators we trust, so the flight is booked in with the rest of the shoot day and priced up front. We check the location on the recce first (airports, city centres and some sites have rules about flying), and the aerials go into the same edit as everything else.

How a drone shoot comes together
Here's the call sheet. It's the same one our crew works from, minus the parking details.
| Sc. | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | On the phone | A chatWhat the aerials need to show, where, and how they fit the rest of the film. |
| 02 | Your site | The recceWe check the site, the airspace and where to take off before anything’s booked. |
| 03 | Our office | The planFlight plan, shot list and timings, slotted into the shoot day and priced up front. |
| 04 | Your site | The shootThe pilot flies the aerials while the crew films on the ground. |
| 05 | The edit suite | The editThe aerials are graded to match the rest of the footage and cut into your film. |
One crew, one edit
You won’t be managing two suppliers. The pilot works to our shot list and our schedule, and the footage goes straight into the same edit as everything else, graded to match.
Recent films with aerials include Ringtons, People’s Powerhouse, Concordia Vocal Project, Newcastle School for Boys and UNICEF’s Child Friendly City in Newcastle.
Not sure a drone’s worth it for your film? Ask us. Sometimes a high camera position or a long lens does the same job for less, and we’ll say so.
