2D & 3D Animation Production

For the things a camera can't get to
Some things can’t be filmed: the inside of a machine, a process that takes a millisecond, a product too thin to see, an idea that doesn’t exist yet. That’s where animation earns its keep.
We’ve animated Norton’s Razorstar ceramic grain, a 3mm tile membrane for Genesis, a superhero mascot called Mr Invincible for Saint-Gobain, and an NHS campaign to help staff stop smoking. Some of it’s technical, some of it’s daft, and all of it’s planned with your experts so the detail’s right.

How an animation comes together
Here's the call sheet. It's the same one our crew works from, minus the parking details.
| Sc. | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | On the phone | A chatTwenty minutes on what needs explaining and who’s watching. No brief? That’s what the chat’s for. |
| 02 | Our studio | Script and styleA script, a voiceover plan and a couple of style frames, so you can see the look before anything moves. |
| 03 | Our studio | StoryboardEvery scene sketched out and signed off before the animation starts. |
| 04 | Our studio | AnimationWe animate, add the voiceover and music, and you review it at each stage. |
| 05 | Your inbox | DeliveryEvery version you need, with subtitles and language versions if you need them. |
Animation, with or without the camera
Because we film as well as animate, we can mix the two: 3D sequences dropped into a live-action launch, like Norton’s electric sander, or animated stats over interviews. For Sunderland’s vaping campaign, Year 10 students helped shape the story and recorded the voiceover themselves.

“The final animation was spot-on, helping us explain complicated financial processes in a way that was both approachable and effective. We love the animation so much that we've incorporated the characters into our brand identity.”
